By shopping in an IGA store and buying IGA branded products or selected lines marked with the Community Chest logo, 1 cent from each of these products sold is set aside. At the end of each year, your local IGA store selects a local group or charity to donate all of the money that has been collected at the store.
Our IGA Community Chest primary recipients of these substantial donations are the Country Fire Authority, the world’s largest emergency services organisation that primarily protects us from the ravages of bushfire every summer and all sorts of other fire and general emergencies.
Every time you purchase one of our quality IGA branded items we donate 1c to IGA Community Chest.
What is Reach
Reach supports young people to get the most out of life. Specially trained Crew of inspirational young leaders run workshops, weekends away and large-scale events that help young people to connect with each other. Each year we run 14 different Reach programs in more than 400 locations to over 40,000 teenagers aged 13-18. By creating an encouraging, supportive and stimulating environment, teenagers discover for themselves so they can do anything they set their minds to.
What is CFA
CFA (Country Fire Authority) is a volunteer and community-based fire and emergency services organisation. They helped protect 3.3 million Victorians and more than a million properties across the state. Volunteers, career firefighters, community educators and support personnel represent the 1,218 brigades in our 21 districts and 5 regions. The IGA Community Chest Disaster Fund has been created for IGA retailers to direct funds towards those impacted by a “disaster”.
